Basement conversions

With the cost of moving home as great as it is many homeowners are looking to maximise the use of the space that they may already have.

Therefore when you need extra living space, you can consider the option to convert an unused cellar into an area that can be used as living space. Whatever the intended nature of use we have an appropriate method to ensure that you will have a space fit for habitable use.

To date we have converted damp, dank, basements and cellars for use as home cinemas, music rooms, fitness suites, kitchens, bedrooms/en suite bathrooms, family rooms, play rooms, home offices and storage.

If your cellar already provides sufficient headroom, the conversion can be relatively straightforward, provided that you employ the services of a contractor with the requisite experience.

In the event that additional headroom is required we will work alongside your appointed structural engineer/main contractor, or provide you with a fully comprehensive service inclusive of the required elements.

The surveying staff at Remcure Ltd have in excess of twenty years experience of inspecting existing cellars/basements with a view to converting to habitable space or utilising for dry storage and we have undertaken many installations utilising either water repellent or water management systems.

We are also vastly experienced in working in an existing structure where the original tanking system has failed.

BS8102 Code of Practice for the protection of below ground structures against water from the ground provides a benchmark for these installations and we are pleased to confirm that our surveying staff have the CSSW Industry Recognised Quantity Surveyor qualification that is awarded as recognition of an individuals understanding of BS8102.
